Alone Time in Macau

a retro post of my Macau Trip in December 2011 :)

Ang trip na 'to ay isang patunay ng aking pagiging kaladkarin at matapang! :)

Background story: Kring and Erle were sent by their stakeholders to attend a Statistical Conference in HK (where Kring's thesis was presented, galing!), kaya naman kahit hindi ako invited, sumama ako dahil libre ang hotel accommodation. Hanggang ngayon pinapaniwala ko pa rin ang sarili ko na hindi masama ang biglaang decision ko na gumastos para sa non-promo plane ticket plus pocket money dahil nakalibre naman ako sa 5-star hotel ng 4 nights worth almost P20,000 per night! di ba practical naman ako? hahaha ;)

Pero bago ako nakarating sa hotel, nawala muna ako. haha. Buti na lang hindi masyadong malayo yung stop na namiss ko at marunong akong magtanong. Kahit 11PM akong naglalakad sa lansangan ng Macau, chill pa rin ako. hehe. Ayoko kase mag taxi!

Pagdating sa hotel, chill muna saglit tapos lumibot pa ako until 1AM ;)

One of the things that I really appreciate when I'm alone is the freedom for lola moments! :) Macau is also friendly for solo travelers because of the very efficient and cheap transportation system and FREE shuttle services from the different casinos. Kahit hindi ka maglalaro, go avail! :)

Buti na lang konti lang ang tao sa Fisherman's Wharf. Ayan tripod galore! :)

Mej mahirap nga lang ang language barrier. Pero marami namang Pinoy at madali lang mag sign language. Hehe. Normally, turo lang ako ng turo ng pictures sa brochure pag nagtatanong ako ng directions. :)

Ang daming FREE taste sa eskinitang to. Nabusog ako! At ang Portuguese egg tarts. Haaaay heaven! :)

St. Peter's Cathedral Ruins. Ayan yung tinuro ko sa brochure nung nagtanong ako ng directions from a local. Naintindihan niya yung tanong ko, pero yung directions niya, hindi ko naintindihan. Haha. Sinundan ko na lang yung mga tao. ;)

Dito may mga turista na ginawa akong photographer. Kairita. Titignan pa nila kung maganda yung shot tapos papaulit sa akin. Sarap itapon ng camera. hahaha ;p

By 5PM, pagoda na ako, diretso na ako ng Hong Kong via ferry. Tatry ko i-post ang HK adventure soon! :)

Fast forward na 'to sa last day. :) For the entire afternoon, sa Venetian lang ako naglakad lakad. Ang daming mabait na Pinoy dito. :)

New Yooooork!

1st thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word USA? New York! No questions asked. haha. I still remember how giddy I was while planning for this side trip (actually, extra lang talaga yung DC e. hehe) As in kilig talaga! Kung uso pa ang walkman or cd player, wala! gasgas na ang "Empire State of Mind" sa cd or cassette tape sa kakaulit ko sa kanya buong byahe ko everyday for a week!

Takot akong mawala so nag Google Maps muna ako kung saan ako baba, sasakay ng bus and all.

Actual. eeeeeeeeee ang lamiiiiiig! Tsaka literal ang concrete jungle! Natakot ako sa dami ng tao. Para akong promdi na naka-coat at scarf at may dalang backpack at luggage na naglalakad sa nth Avenue and nth street. haha.

November 25, 2010, Thanksgiving Day and 26th Wedding Anniversary of my parents. Oo na, pinagpalit ko na sila para sa trip na to. Hehe :) We were running late for our Statue of Liberty tour, tapos may sumabog na aerosol sa train! FDNY came to the rescue in no time! Amazing!
